THE FULL VIDEO: This Is Unprecedented

37 people threatened with eviction In stand off against Brighton and Hove City Council CEO Geoff Raw

37 People Face Eviction from Knoll House after controversial plans to demolish the site move forward, making 37 key workers homeless in Brighton and Hove. The Blame Game Starts!!!

We cannot ignore 37 people, many of which explain they feel exploited, being evicted, and sent to the streets, they are also very much ? Nurses, Teachers, and other Key Workers!

You will see these are a varied bunch, the claims in the video, we need to see more, we all know knoll house has been earmarked for a demolition and new build at a projected cost of £10m

This will provide a net gain of 10 extra units of housing.

The council owns this building, we know the emergency accommodation at Kendal Court in Newhaven has to move residents out by 31st July.

We call for:

  1. A Pause To Evictions Until The First Housing Committee in Sept 2022 in which this can be discussed and debated
  2. A watcher is to be installed until then, to create a safe and secure living environment.
  3. A re-look at the Scheme Plans Clearly has not been consulted.

We could comment on so much more, and at this stage, we will not, other than this is an extraordinary event….

We know

  1. Cllrs claim “its a mess” they were not informed, these are the administration? how can this be?
  2. These people all pretty much work in public services, one resident a former university student is pregnant and worried
